NIH’s National Center for Research Resources (NCRR) has issued its annual call for proposals for Shared Instrumentation Grants (SIG), which provide funding for shared-use research instrumentation costing more than $100,000. While there is no restriction on the number of applications an institution can submit to the SIG program, applications must request DIFFERENT types of equipment. Applications must identify a major users group of three or more investigators. A minimum of three major users must be principal investigators on NIH peer-reviewed research grants (R01, P01, U01, R35, R37, DP1 or DP2) at the time of application and award.
Our office has been asked to coordinate the SIG requests from the College of Medicine and resolve any duplicate college requests. The UF Office of Research will then resolve any duplicate requests among various campus units prior to the March 23, 2010 proposal deadline at NIH.

- Name and model of instrumentation
- Proposed location of instrument (if other than PI lab)
- List of NIH-funded investigators who will be the main users
