The College of Medicine may nominate two candidates for the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation (DDCF) 2011 Clinical Scientist Development Award (CSDA). The purpose of the CSDA Program is to provide support for mentored research to junior physician-scientists working in any disease area as they begin their careers as independent clinical researchers.

The UF Office of Research has announced the 2011 Research Opportunity Seed Fund competition. This program targets interdisciplinary, collaborative research initiatives that have potential for extramural support.

The Thomas H. Maren Junior Investigators Fund provides seed money for promising post-doctoral fellows in the College of Medicine. Award amount is $25,000 per year for two years (2nd year contingent on 1st year progress). It is anticipated that one or two awards will be given in 2011.
