Research Development

Research Development team members within the College of Medicine Office of Research Affairs design and implement services that help faculty become successful in obtaining and maintaining extramural funding and — once successful — share their expertise to help their colleagues do the same. Faculty members are encouraged to contact us for assistance with pre-award activities related to finding funding opportunities and to proposal development and editing.

How Research Development Supports Research

R01 Boot Camp

The R01 Boot Camp is a 10-month, multi-tiered, proposal development program, in which early career faculty work in small groups with senior faculty coaches to prepare a competitive NIH R01 grant proposal.

Proposal Development

We offer proposal samplers, free in-house proposal editing, proposal preparation funding, assistance with development of large proposals, and lists of freelance writers and graphic designers.

Find Funding

We coordinate internal competitions for limited submission grants; all opportunities are hosted on the UF Office of Research InfoReady. We also manage the College of Medicine Bridge Funding program, which helps support continuity of faculty research between large grants.

Find Research Collaborators

We will soon offer faculty profiles covering many schools, colleges, and institutes across campus. Faculty will be able to use the database to find researchers with specific areas of expertise for collaboration or mentoring, explore co-author networks, and connect with colleagues across the preeminent UF research enterprise to expand their research network.
